Imagine how seriously will she be taken. Hell how all women on boards will be respected. "I got here on Merit" "Riiiight miss diversity check. Now go get us a coffee and be silent while the real board talks."

And then being disregarded because the rest of the board doesn't respect her. Not because she's a woman, but because she got fast tracked to her position.

My cynical take: Let's say that a board has seven members. 1. David Cohen 2. Samuel Goldberg 3. Noah Goldblatt 4. Ari Goldschmidt 5. Uri Horowitz 6. John Smith 7. Piotrek Kowalski
-
To signal, the shareholders elect a boardmember of color. It's composition is now as follows: 1. David Cohen 2. Samuel Goldberg 3. Noah Goldblatt 4. Ari Goldschmidt 5. Uri Horowitz 6. Tyrone Biggums 7. Piotrek Kowalski
-
Now, one woman must serve on every company board. This is reflected in its membership: 1. David Cohen 2. Samuel Goldberg 3. Noah Goldblatt 4. Ari Goldschmidt 5. Uri Horowitz 6. Tyrone Biggums 7. Devorah Katz

IMO, this is the same thing that happens with Affirmative Action.
@MikeEPeinovich has a good bit on this.

Just ask the HR director who currently sits on the board for much the same reason.

Gender quotas with the threat of repercussions if not met, we truly are living in a moronic time.

doubt there's a gender bias, rather its the differences between man and women that made different career choices Will a women want to work as an engineer if given a choice? what about nurses for men? Everything is just going down the kitchen sink w socialism. (min wage, etc)
-
My niece is graduating in engineering, and I work with a lot of male nurses. I’m not sure I understand your point.
-
Both are quite the statistical outlier. Pretending they’re not makes you look silly, and does not refute the point they’re trying to make. I believe they’re trying to point out that women tend to not make career choices that end with them on the Board of Directors.

Imagine thinking women feel anything but entitled to things they never earned.

Imagine being the kind of scum-female who's actually FOR this
