If anything, mixed and lighter skinned women were used as vehicles for misogynoir. Other people will attempt to prop us up if we aren’t careful and act as allies.
And by other people, I’m talking black people. The times I have been in that type of situation it was another black person involved in the treatment.

“What are you mixed with?” “You got good hair.” “You can’t just be black.” These are all things that are embedded in black culture. Misogynoir is more than shade color. It attacks every aspect of the black woman.

You could be a 490 in fenty foundation and if your hair is a 3c texture black people will find themselves asking if you are other. Embedded.
