What woman you know can go from 4Z to 1A hair with the use of a blow dryer and a flat iron? Or go from 1B to 613 in a matter of seconds it takes to adjust a wig? Or go from 2 inches to 27 in the snap of a hat? BLACK WOMEN. Hair is so important to the culture of black Women.

We use our hair as a means to express our beauty a multitude of ways and just because white people do not understand it, does not mean we should have to conform to one standard. Why? Because it’s not for them in the first place. For us, by us.

They don’t know what it’s like to sit in between their mothers legs every week to get their hair done for hours on end. Or how to wrap their hair up at night. They don’t even understand how protective styling works or how we wash our hair once a week.
