When I was growing up, the docs I went to said every year. I watched my mom go every year. I watched her get annual exams. Every 3-5 years reallyyyyyy bothers me. I would never wait that long. You wouldn’t wait 3-5 years to get blood work.

that smooth pissed me off when i scheduled my last. i was like tf you mean every 3 years?! they said as long as you’ve always had normal results, that’s the standard now

My insurance covers a yearly exam (pap included) and guess what I’m gonna do? Get my cervix scraped every year. I feel like that’s insurance cutting corners.

it absolutely sounds like cutting corners. i want one every year, idc what they say.
-
They don’t even have real reasoning behinddddd why you should wait 3-5 years. That’s what alarms me.

Recommend is the cute way of putting it. Things changed at the insurance companies and that’s why for some it changed from annually to every 3 years. It’s the same way for regular office visits.

For annuals exams?!
-
Yup. Depending on your age or know conditions (sometimes) it covered. Any other time of you come in for a visit, you pay because the Doctor will bill with a routine dx or your insurance doesn’t think it’s a medical necessity
