My elementary school had a gym, a pool other schools would bus to get swim class, a music room, a computer room when computers first started coming into play, arts room and a home ec room. Along with a library.

When I was growing up with had something called “Accelerated Reader”. Kids were rewarded for the amount of books they read and the difficulty. After every book you took a test. Pass the test, earn books & you get prizes. GOOD PRIZES. I won a pogo stick once.

We had LIBRARY classes from elementary school all the way through high school. We spent school periods IN THE LIBRARY. With assignments.

We had swimming classes and the guy that used to be mayor of my town was our swimming teacher. Even though I’m not the best swimmer, I can swim to survive.
