These reviews for Mother! let me know I'm gonna have to see it 2/3 times.
But people are pissed because it's a very very politically charged film. The entire film is a metaphor.

They're comparing it to It Comes At Night with unconventionality. I enjoyed that film. I love abstract film. It means more.

Soooo apparently it's the story of God, Mother Earth and the story of humans on earth. Starting with Adam & Eve.

There's also commentary in there on the nature of creation and how it never really stops. Like the world card in tarot, continuous.
