I don't think it's lying or rape to not disclose being trans, but it would be nice to know at some point at least so I could understand morehttps://twitter.com/_poisoniveyy/status/874601008059613184 …

I also don't think it's phobic to not want to be faced with certain things. Whether it be someone having kids, dating interracially, etc.
-
It might be selfish and self serving AF. But I think we need to be careful with the word "phobic" bc there's a lot of Grey between b&w.

Type is very grey. Very very grey.

Murder and violence against transfolk is phobic. Verbal abuse. Systematic abuse. The things that make it hard for transfolk to live fully.
-
But where I see the disconnect is where many people don't consider transfolk are real men/women. That takes education. I'm learning.
-
I still don't know all the nuances. I still need educating.
-
But I do know it can be tiring as hell having to continually explain your existence and all the nuances it has while being an other.
-
And the potential backlash that can occur from doing so. So I do understand why some choose not to disclose.

I think it's lying cuz you aren't biologically the sex you've chosen to be and affects both of you. Especially if you're planning kids
