“Your mom is Jamaican and Chinese. And your dad is (American) Black and Polish.” These are ethnicities, not races. So let’s start there. I’m also interested in knowing what ethnicities were prioritized in the household growing up because it’ll all be right there.

It’s also good to note how different the experience is depending on the region you’re from. In the south it seemed more binary as a child and the north always had mixed ethnicities.
