I’ve just noticed an influx of people feeling the need to express this sentiment directly to her. Of course she engages but it’s not necessary. Plus (we) know the story so we don’t have to watch it to support it but people who aren’t aware of this story need to see it.

Oh I agree that ppl who don’t know need to see it. It’s an important story that still has importance today. But I also think ppl are speaking directly to her bc they adore her and her work, and they want to share that sentiment without watching something that’d make them upset.

Didn’t say I wasn’t going to watch it; just that I was conflicted about watching it immediately. And I @‘d her because I @ her when I support her work, and because I was interested to see it she has any responses to people who have trouble watching it for those reasons.
