Also to add to that I loved how you said owning the sensitive parts of yourself. I want so much for black women to own our vulnerability but at the same time it’s hard but I know taking that chance can yield results even if the risk is high.

After being in therapy for nearly a year, dealing with trauma and betrayal and assault and, and, and- I had to make a choice that I was going to either let the hurt space drown me or make that bitch a canoe and keep sailing. Now that doesn’t mean you’ll be impervious to hurt

But it does mean that as long you recognize the vulnerability is a part of you just like your boundaries, you’ll be ok. Some days more ok than others

You touched on it earlier but I think part of what makes it so hard for us is that we live among intersections and are fighting with the shame that comes with being seen as “weak”
