I mean but she herself claims the title and she does embody everything people consider “hood”. Aggression, colorful hair, booty shorts, threatening men/women, talking about robbing niggas. Hell, she in beauty supply store hoops in Fader. If that’s not “hood” then idk what is.https://twitter.com/BtSquared2/status/1130832119251521536 …

The “black girl shit” Megan does is pinnacle “hood” shit and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it because we are not monoliths. Her experience is just one of the many black experiences and does not make her any less worthy of anything.

“Hood” black girls still go to school. They still succeed despite the aesthetic. It’s not a “mainstream” package but that shit is authentic and Megan lets a lot of us girls who are from the “hood” feel seen AND heard.

Every single thing society tells black women they shouldn’t be, Megan is that. She’s brown. She’s tall. She’s thick. She has black features. She wears bootyshorts, colorful weaves, long nails. She curses. She demands respect without fear of consequence. She owns her sexuality.

And at the same time, she’s getting her education, preaching Black Girl Power, and one of theeeeee best rappers (male OR female) out period. So yes, she’s good. Ain’t nothing wrong with that.
