The “black girl shit” Megan does is pinnacle “hood” shit and there’s absolutely nothing wrong with it because we are not monoliths. Her experience is just one of the many black experiences and does not make her any less worthy of anything.

“Hood” black girls still go to school. They still succeed despite the aesthetic. It’s not a “mainstream” package but that shit is authentic and Megan lets a lot of us girls who are from the “hood” feel seen AND heard.
