All these things can be true at the same time and separately from one another. It’s too subjective. But a lot of it does come down to the other person. Being comfortable with them. Trusting them. I don’t like to paint survivors of sexual trauma as psychologically “broken” because sex therapy is a thing and many people use sex as a mechanism for healing, exploration, etc. I think it’s unfair to say women aren’t orgasming because they’ve been abused.

I don’t think saying that women might not orgasm because of past trauma is a “pick me” statement, but it’s definitely harmful and spreads the narrative that women are “broken” and men have no work to do.
