I was just labeled a misandrist and I’m honestly upset about it. I hate that any time a woman brings up things that men do that are wrong en masse, she’s automatically labeled a man hater. I can’t call out men’s bullshit without hating men?

I am a woman. I am a black woman. I am going to tweet about things black women deal with it. The good, the bad, and the ugly. I am an advocate for my own first and others second.

If any of that bothers you I’m open to dialogue about it. But you can’t just throw out labels like “misandrist” or “man basher” without proper receipts. That’s not my MO because I’m a HUGE proponent of BLACK LOVE and the enrichment of our people as a whole.

I want all my fellow black girls to find their version of love and fulfillment when it comes to dealing with Black men. But we can’t just focus on one side because it takes two to come together. And a lot of it is patriarchy in which black men benefit from despite their race.

And to be honest I don’t even tweet about relationship things too often because I’m focused on the systematic aspects racism and patriarchy entail. This shit bigger than just men vs women.

The relationships aspect of being black is honestly tertiary to me because we have enough systems in place we have to dismantle dealing with being a WOMAN and BLACK. The intersectionality of it all. I don’t have time to deal with why these niggas don’t text back.

But people only gonna see what they want to see because it confirms whatever skewed version of you they want you to be to fit their personal narrative. </rant>
