You don’t just wake up one day depressed. It’s something that happens overtime and it changes your brain and body. Depression can exacerbate ailments and ailments can in turn exacerbate depression.

Going through a rough patch doesn’t mean you’re depressed. Bring sad doesn’t either. Too many people are conflating normal human emotions with a legitimate condition and that’s where you get the whole “go to your faith” cure. I’m sorry but no.

Faith is only go to take you so far when your body doesn’t even feel able. When you don’t have enough energy or aspiration to do things like eat and wash your ass. When the smaller task feels like the biggest mountain.

If you’ve suffered from CLINICAL DEPRESSION, you understand the symptoms vary. You can gain weight. Lose weight. Sleep too much. Sleep too little. Care too much. Not care at all. On top of any other conditions such as anxiety, eating disorders, etc.
