Somehow I had a pregnancy and miscarriage in all of that. I still healed from that one and I ended up trying to get an IUD. Hurt like a bitch. And I just kept cramping up. Shit was not settling.

Went to the check up and they ordered an ultrasound to make sure everything was okay. It wasn’t. The IUD has begun to attach to the walls of my uterus. They removed it immediately. After that, I said I’m done.

I went through weight fluctuations and mood swings. I was growing hair like crazy. And my back was breaking out so bad. Nothing I did would fix it. Until one day I was at work and experiencing the worst cramps ever.

My boyfriend ended up having to come take me to the urgent care. It was real. Docs ordered ultrasounds immediately. The tech would not tell me anything she saw (it’s illegal, the doc is the only one able to interpret results). So now I’m pretty scared because why tf not?!

The doctor told me I had polycystic ovary syndrome or pcos. And fibroids. I was floored. I ended up having an entire anxiety attack just thinking about how I may never have kids. Just the worst possible scenario. Like that’s my top fear in life.

I would always see that in the movies and it used to scare the shit out of me. Like what the fuck?! What kind of torture!?

So I set up an appointment with a specialist. And it just put so much into perspective to me. I have a normal period so that means my body is ovulating still! (“Yay!”)

I can control if I experience adverse symptoms, like caffeine disrupting my hormones by what I eat/drink. Stress will trigger symptoms. Something to do with adrenal gland or whatever.

A lot of those symptoms dissolved. I just don’t experience them as much anymore. And to think all doctors wanted to do was ask “do you want to have children now?” If I said no, they’d immediately recommend birth control.

Western medicine is really trading gold for scrap metal. Western medicine only “puts things off”. It’s frustrating because then I get off bc when I’m “ready” and still have to go through these changes. It’s a bunch of separate symptoms. I have to learn my body.

And for the past 2 years that’s what I’ve been doing. My body is still changing at a steady place. More on schedule. More routine. I’m feeling like home in it.

          Replying to @BonaFideSage

The doctor recommended I get the IUD after I gave birth. I haven’t been on birth control in years and I’m not sure I want to get back on it
