But a lot of the time, it’s not worth having your nail tech talk shit about you as they are touching you. Really a violating feeling and that energy is really disgusting. You know what I mean if you’ve gone through that or witnessed it. Very sick.

I’ve taken to yelp to actually review salons that I’ve gone to that treated me badly because other people need to know. Going to the shop owner won’t do anything. You can’t fight bias like that. But going to tell MY experiences keeps other black women from experiencing that.

This is an important conversation that’s hit the timeline before but nobody’s really gotten into the deep of it. It’s crazy because nails are so apart of black womens aesthetic and yet we still have to deal with hostility in our self care.
