I didn’t even tell y’all about how this white woman tried to call me sexist! Story time.
Her husbands name is on the reservation but it’s a boys name so I ask her son if that’s him. The mom’s like no it’s my husband, this is (insert vanilla name). I tell her about our policy and how this helps us avoid any liability issues. She has an attitude with me.

She’s talking about how it’s a sexist practice, going on the phone to get it resolved lying to the people on the phone that I’m picking on her essentially because she’s a woman and her husband is the “big guy” in this situation. Typical white woman wanna be oppressed bullshit.

She gets it settled off the phone and then proclaims to me “if it were my husband, would you do that to him?” I say “NO HIS NAME IS ON THE RESERVATION.” I got so sick of her whiny bullshit, I just got up and asked somebody else to help her. I couldn’t take it.

My BM coworker takes care of her. Tried to turn it around. He wasn’t around for the whole exchange but he knows I don’t fare well in those situations and I’m quick to curse people out. (I’ve done it before and have called the police on people as well) I do not tolerate disrespect

He gets her situated. She calls the next day to speak to him again SHE COMPLAINING ABOUT ME AGAIN TO THE GUY THAT TOOK CARE OF HER THE DAY BEFORE. He bullshittin, letting her talk her rah rah white shit and he hangs up the phone. Didn’t ask me a word about it.

Moral of the story: I’m so glad I work with majority black people. Im so glad I work at a Fortune 500 company with black men who will protect me and step in when they see white people (majority white women) mistreating me as a black woman.

I’m in a male dominated industry (most of us are) and being a double minority, I can get lost in the sauce if I didn’t have supportive people in my corner vouching for me. So many times people with privilege tried to get me out of there. But black/brown people with me >
