Sometimes we make mistakes, which is why we have multiple escalation paths for reviewers to raise tough decisions and we give creators the right to appeal. The reviewer will be educated on this outcome and on how to avoid repeating this mistake.
A “graphic nature” then the user should just set their channel or independent videos to mature audiences. I think that is how it’s done currently but I’m not sure if they’ve (youtube) changed it I haven’t uploaded any gameplay videos in a long time.

YouTube should be responsible for that, seeing as they seem to be controlling censorship across the whole platform and automatically determining whether content is suitable for monetization or not. Right now they are not doing a good job of reassuring and supporting creators.

The big issue I have with YouTube is as long as the content is “appropriate/ethical” (meaning not copyrighted, no offensive content like racism, slanderous content etc) I don’t see the problem with allowing all content then to be monetized by their creators.
