@BoingBoing I get your point, but this was far from a riot. Only a handful of people arrested for being stupid. Police handled it well.

I can't imagine why large numbers of happy, smiling people weren't treated the same as angry, grimacing people.

@BoingBoing in Canada we condemn the shit out of the people who rioted when Vancouver lost the cup -
@gmdod To be clear, these were no riots. A few very small isolated incidents, but no looting, no police in riot gear, no tear gas... -
@RyanK well that's good. -
@gmdod Vancouver still makes me sad. Most of the people involved were looking for a reason to riot, regardless of the game.

@BoingBoing Except it was basically 3x the crowd of a Cubs night game, and just more puke to clean up. Double standard? Sure. Riot? No.Thanks. Twitter will use this to make your timeline better. UndoUndo

@BoingBoing also ironic because your photo is outside Wrigley field. -
@agsciencewriter@BoingBoing That's wrigleyville... of course that's where all the craziness was. Are you familiar with Chicago at all? -
@RyanK@BoingBoing yes ironic because Blackhawks play at United Center and Wrigley is home of perennial losers: the Flubs -
@agsciencewriter Wrigleyville is notorious for this. Look up St. Patrick's Day (not an irish neighborhood): http://www.barstoolsports.com/chicago/a-barstool-chicago-tradition-recapping-the-police-blotter-from-st-patricks-day-saturday/ … -
@agsciencewriter Wrigleyville is known for being young, mostly white and affluent and has a high concentration of sports bars. I avoid it. -
@RyanK exactly my friend exactly. Ironic.
