The government's continued use of the polygraph to screen applicants knowing the polygraph, when used as a lie detector, is a fraud constitutes a criminal dereliction of duty. The duty they owe to those seeking employment with the government is to be fair in the selection process

It seems to me, that the government, knows it is a fraud, yet continues to allow its use, is illegal. Yet the Government has Sovereign Immunity- so no one is going to jail. Certainly worth a look in Tort law and damages goes. A 1983 Civil Rights Action is a good place to start.

Yes, I'll get all that information to you and I am sure that together we can come up with a basis for a good tort action that would perhaps interest a major law firm and hit these thugs and charlatans in the polygraph industry where it hurts – in their bank account.
-
That's how you hurt these rich corporations- they are not people, they are ficticious legal entities. Take their money away! Its really the only reason they exist to begin with, and the only thing they understand!

Over on http://www.antipolygraph.org someone suggested that they take the billions of dollars that are being wasted each year and spend it on good old fashioned background checks, it would be infinitely better - and not violate individual rights.

Makes good sense to me. The money on PG is a complete waste. Do the background checks, and in National Security, there is the track record of the individual. They can dig pretty far to tell if one is selling National secrets.

It's not just applicants. They also do it to employees - sometimes every 5 years. I lost my career, my reputation and my state of mind over false accusations that I was lying about mishandling classified info. 34 year career over w/o any other wrongdoing.
