I’m guessing that the flamethrower has to be forward mounded as a safety precaution. (In case of a gas leak) discs would dig up after being pulled from behind

that seems to defeat the purpose, the point would be to burn those seeds just 4 - 6" under the ground that the torch would miss, but could still germinate

there are healthier organic methods, but that would require you personally growing your own garden or buying from a neighborhood garden. This is factory farming and an analysis of the trade-offs would help, using natural gas vs poisons on the ground
