Yes actually! An old technology that’s finding its niche in organic production. It’s difficult to operate and the crop has to be at really specific growth stages for it to work but it’s got its place as an option.

Flame weeding is highly effective. The most hilarious thing about the modern organic food market is that it employs old school techniques that were originally developed to save money on expensive fertilizer and pesticides...and they charge twice as much for the end product.

It has to be timed well: between weed germination and seeding. Still doesn't kill everything. Prairie seeds love fire. Applying anhydrous ammonia does something similar.
