Night City Wire only makes me a little more concerned about how this fluid class system is going to work. The demo had Nomad, Corpo and "Streetkid", which makes me think CDPR either filled out the class roster, or you're fed choices before new levels (Netrunner/Solo demo).
That said, Geoff and sorta Jesse said their choice of those first 3 changed the entire prologue. So is there a unique prologue for Netrunner and Solo as well? Can you pick Corpo and still be asked to play as Solo later? Should you replay the whole game to get the unique stories?
Maybe it's my own bias, but I don't see why you'd play as anything different than what you started with, unless you hate your class and wish to respec. Then again, the whole perk tree seems open, albeit "abridged" compared to the TTRPG choices.
Everyone covering Cyberpunk seems to aggressively throw around the word "choice." My biggest worry is that it ends up being a converging story to some ultimate ending, with *illusion* of choice. Characters still die, your actions just determine if it's now or later, etc.
I'm glad they did name-drop some important characters from the original story, but I already get the feeling of some loss of novelty. CDPR did say 2020 was too "retro" and needed updating, but I hope it isn't some weird disconnected nostalgia trip in 2077.
