It’s too bad that trials weren’t designed with a single dose arm. Seems that this situation was perfectly conceivable last year.

If the problem were with the supply of the vaccine, one might make an argument for focusing on 1st dose. But the problem is in distribution of the vaccine & giving actual doses. This is an easily solvable problem with the massive resources available to the federal govt.

For nearly a year we’ve been begging the public to trust the scientific evidence - on masks, distancing, lack of efficacy of HCQ. Now we are telling them “eh, trust our best guess!” and we expect them to understand?
