No. What you should have gotten out of it is that everyone having a voice drives people further apart because only the extreme views get heard. It's not about what "he" wanted. It's about what's actually happening.

I mean, the video is about the history of vlogging-- the conditions that produced it, the ideology of its innovators, and the unforeseen circumstances of their utopian vision that left a generation of creators ambivalent about their hobby.

Hard to say that the internet itself promotes extremism... In the video I touch on the idea that the advertising business itself (on TV + the internet) is the biggest cause of widening political divisions. In any case, thanks for watching!
