        I guess Nintendo owns PART of The Pokemon Company, who owns the license. TPC is a private company and not publicly traded.

        Nintendo owns 1/3 of Pokemon & 54% of Game Freak. Nintendo's relationship w/ Pokemon is a kin to a musician on an indie label
