The risk is greatly exaggerated. Nyko and the cheapest of cheap Chinese ones pose a risk. Reputable ones like Insignia, Skull and Co etc work fine for 100’s of people. The amount of brick 
ed Switches is dwarfed by people using 3rd party accessories just fine.

But tbh why would you need to get another dock in the first place that's a 3rd party one? You could always buy a 1st party one, if its broken send it in for repair, or if you want a customized one, just buy an attachment for the dock or some stickers.

I used the Nyko on a business trip and saw the videos just prior to my update to 5.0(?). Youtubers saved my bacon. (Basstop mod club, FTW.) I will note that Nyko also produced their own AC adapter for that one. Curious if that’s the case with others. It might be the culprit.

I really love videos like this from you. Straightforward and descriptive, and moderately technical. Quick question: if the official dock uses 6V, and a big problem is the others don't... why don't third parties just make a 6V dock?
