Starbucks coffee gets cold quickly partly because they use paper cups instead of styrofoam to be more eco friendly. So, to counter this, employees sometimes double up the cups to insulate it better.

Definitely not worse than styrofoam. I mean, you can recycle paper cups.

Styro decomps in AT MINIMUM 500 years; Paper takes 2-5 months. even if you neglect to toss it into a recycle bin, the paper cup is STILL going to break down in a trash dump over time. the point is that styro, honestly, may NEVER break down, no matter where it ends up.
