If youre in a bind, your best bet is to charge the Switch with the power OFF. But you should generally avoid 3rd party plwer accessories all together.

What about my computer’s USB port? I know from one of your videos that the Switch would be powering the MacBook if you did that. Would that happen on PC? -
Yes, you have to use the official Nintendo charger from your dock lol And no, YOU CANT CHARGE IT WITH ANYTHING BUT THAT UNLESS YOU’RE A THRILL SEAKER (ive charged it with other accessories just fine but its not advised lol)
