I have an unpopular theory about this. I kinda think the whole “not showing up in the sub box” thing is a myth. It’s more likely that they THOUGHT they were subbed but were instead relying on YTs randomly suggested notifications or suggested videos on the home page.

It would make sense. There was a point where my videos would get roughly 30% of their views from "Suggested". My newest video got about 3% from Suggested.
