Great blog post from @ParityTech setting the scene around stuck ether recovery options. We are very lucky to have them in the #ethereum #community
If anybody has the talent and skill to come up solutions in this tricky area, it is Parity.

Oh so great... but something they wouldn't be posting about if it hadn't affected them, and their preferred and submitted solution just so happens to be the one that will only fix their issue.

Don't be so cynical. A core part of open source culture is "scratching your own itch". There is no greater motivation. Parity do not dictate what happens with the protocol. That is a community process. Here is how it works:https://twitter.com/BobSummerwill/status/940008151222427649 …

Also EVERYBODY IN THE WORLD is welcome to be part of the process coming to consensus on how we move forward on this question of trapped funds. See https://www.reddit.com/r/ethereum/comments/7d1szw/link_discussion_on_stuck_ether_recovery_options/?st=jb2js13y&sh=0b523e45 … Join https://gitter.im/ethereum/ether-recovery … Nobody is going to be "bamboozled by Parity". We all work in the open.
