If I'm reading my Bible right, a primary criteria by which God judges nations is how they treat refugees.
But they also had to follow the laws of Israel. Rahab and her family were “placed outside the camp” until circumcision and ceremonial cleansing. Plus they has to worship Israel’s God. Why do we leave that part out? We are a very generous nation when people come here legally.

I also find it very interesting that Christians who will in one breath say the Tanakh (“Old Testament) is mostly obsolete turn to a superficial understanding of it to justify political policies that are the opposite of everything Jesus preached.
-
True. These are also the same people who are upset with Andy Stanley when he made the comment that “Jesus unhitch the old testament from Christianity.”

I’m not talking about you specifically, I don’t know you, but political Christianity is blasphemy, cruel, and God-less.
-
Yes, and I would say that politicizing Christianity is the worst part. I see both sides perverting scripture and taking it out of context to prove a point.

You would think Jesus checked ID or demanded a statement of faith before healing and feeding bodies. Why are so many Christians like this? Because they love Caesar more than people. They fear poverty more than they love God.
-
I agree he didn’t and didn’t have to because he was all knowing. I disagree with checking ID to help people especially when it comes to the church. But, since times have changed and we don’t know the heart, we must be “wise as a serpent and harmless as a dove.”

Study the difference between the Hebrew words “zarim” and “nokhrim” and then ask yourself which class people fleeing poverty/violence the US helped create, children in cages, and DACA kids fall into. Do this with an honest heart.
