ICJ ruling on website soon. A unanimous ruling (17-0) - rejects Myanmar request to refuse jurisdiction and requires detailed reports from Myanmar every few months before trial. Just spoke to Gambian Justice Minister to congratulate him and agree to meet soon on next steps.

Crucial now to work with #Rohingya community inside and outside #Myanmar to manage their expectations of immediate improvements.

Won't happen inside as the people resent them because of the constant bashing of Buddhist Also they will never use the term Rohingya as they are not an indigenous ethnic group of Rakhine

Thank you for your work on this. Your leadership has been pivotal to drawing our attention in Canada to this crisis.

I strongly believe ICJ's decision is wrong setting the stage for more mistrust in #Burma #Myanmar and also creating more chaotic 'World Order' by setting an precedent for any country to suit any country - without 'meterial cause'.

You did a good rebuttal in Burmese to the ICJ The IOC PR lobby is strong and no one thinks about the Burmese people who put their lives on the line for democracy

Ain't it nice to be a cowardly Canadian politician? Just stand behind some country with a horrid human rights record to ensure he's on the right side (anti-Buddhist) in the public eye.

As a Canadian who came fr Myanmar I must tell you that all you are creating is a divide The Buddhist view Canada as anti Burmese and pro Muslim as they do not have the same lobby power No ruling will give peace or acceptance The refugees will never go back to Rakhine

Today’s ICJ ‘s ruling did not make determination of whether Myanmar could be found responsible for crimes as charged.Myanmar has resolutely maintained it was responding to attacks by ARSA terrorists.Court has affirmed that decision given today in no way prejudges merits of case.
