If Amash has to pay for his stand with his political career, I have a feeling he would one hell of a high school civics & history teacher.

Or, dare I say it, president?
-
I doubt that although he could give Trump fits as a Libertarian presidential candidate. Perhaps he runs for Governor of Michigan down the road.
-
Michigander here... No thank you! Even with him taking the correct stand now. His policies are not good for Michigan.
-
MI showed out and showed up in 2018. Made right correction from 16. Dems where there supposed to be, in control. Good stuff on voter registration including same day. Cant remember other prop but a sweep. Focus on proper redistribution and don't flirt with dark side again.
-
Legal rec marijuana and an end to partisan gerrymandering
-
I was trying to type redistricting for gerrymandering but auto correct put redistribution.

The amazing thing about this photograph is none of the students have cell phones out.
-
When my son goes to DC as an eighth grader next year, they are not allowed to bring cell phones on the trip.
-
No phones at all? No communication with family/friends/emergency services etc? No photos of their trip allowed? Seems a bit much to me.
-
My gut reaction as a parent was along your feelings at first. They can bring digital cameras, mp3 devices, but nothing connecting to the internet. They do this year after year. There are enough adults with phones, and this is a small school with a small group of 8th graders.
-
Very few people now own digital cameras or mp3 devices since cell phones now do this. The school is basically denying the students ability to bring their experience back home to parents & siblings as well as lasting photos of the trip. Shame on the school!
-
Not sure this is your issue to battle?
The parents/kids manage each year just fine. They make disposable cameras still too. The camera isn’t a big deal. As I said previously, I had initial concerns about the policy too, but have talked with a lot of parents & am ok with it. -
I was a camp director for 10 years and we didn't allow phones for campers or counselors. Most ended up loving it. They had so much fun being around each other instead of being on their phones.
-
I think it's great! Live in the moment and be present! Everybody so busy taking photos to post, posing, not even experiencing what's happening. Everybody at a concert is now a cameraman. I'll go on that trip, it's right up my alley!

Amash and I often disagree about he role of government I have to commend him for showing a spine here. America needs more like him in both parties to stand up for what is right.
-
"*the* role of government," How come every one of my tweets that does well has typos in it? Ughh Twitter needs and edit button.
-
Needs *an* edit button. Double ugh.

I would hate his policies but I admire his values and principles.
