I love YouTube and when the notification system was first introduced I was told it was a chance for subs to see "every video you upload" I supported or then. But why break this system too? Why let it be only a "if we think the video is good enough" system as well?

Just to clarify, if someone taps the bell > all notifications, then they do get a notification for every video upload! It's only the "occasional" notification setting that sends just some. Also, no matter your notification settings, all new uploads still show in the subs feed!

We’re back with more info! Creator Insider created a follow up video with more clarity on how and why notifications work the way they do. You can watch the video here:https://goo.gl/KZ9tkw

Surely it would be better if people had control over their notifications. Stopping them on the assumption that they'll unsub seems incorrect, and I'd have thought it would be more to do with the fact they don't want to see certain things anymore, and/or dislike current trends.

I've seen channels completely killed due to notifications not being sent, and they've created new channels which now have 1m+ subs. There seems to be a lot more going on than what's being said, but I'm by no means fully informed on what goes on in the background so who knows?!
