I just witnessed the craziest thing on Taraval St. The recall chess people were gathered outside Tennessee Grill, with a bullhorn, shouting into the restaurant “recall chesa boudin” “no justice no peace” (lol) and taunting “we have the signatures chesa”

So I asked: is he in there? Are you shouting through a restaurant door while people are trying to eat, to make a point? Calmly: yes. So I said this is a human trying to have breakfast. The response: there’s lots more humans being hurt by what he does.

So I said recalls undermine democracy, and they turned their sign waving, bullhorn yelling, on me until I drove away. Here’s what I don’t get: the office this man holds defends your right to “peacefully” assemble and you turn these bullying, angry mob tactics on the man?

Are they following him around like this everywhere? Everyday? Like, don’t you have better things to do with your time? I’m sorry
@chesaboudin that I didn’t have my wits about me to stand up more forcefully. Or to come in there and say I’m sorry to your face.#standwithchesa7 replies 2 retweets 33 likesShow this thread -
Replying to @anniebsf @chesaboudin
I’m sorry to hear this. I encountered a D.A. recall petitioner at a playground who was unaccompanied by a child, which is a violation of city code, nor was he wearing a badge showing he was w/a campaign (an ethics violation). /1

When I politely pointed these things out, he got very verbally aggressive with me and threatened me. There were kids around. The mom in me didn’t want any them feel scared by his yelling, so I walked away. The tactics of intimidation are an essential part of their strategy./2

It’s good you spoke out here on social media. When more of us do, people will see that this entire recall campaign is built on fear and disinformation.
When we speak out against unjust campaign tactics, our community becomes stronger.
