When did Doctor Who stop being a sci fi show and become some sort of 20th century history doc?

Yes, I know it’s about time travel, which may include going back to recent history, as they have done many times before. My point is it’s supposed to be a sci-fi show, not a lesson in recent history that involves people running occasionally. It’s just a tad boring.

We all appreciate what Rosa Parks achieved, and all credit to her. We all know that colonial India had problems, and that there were/are tensions between religions and that some chose a new life in the UK. This is supposed to be a sci-fi show, not a history lesson

The show seems to recently be just about modern history and teaching us all a lesson we already know, with a bit of running by the characters and use of a sonic screwdriver now and then.

it's about time travel. That mean's going to different time periods. The show has been like this for 50 some years now...

it's always been both for Doctor Who. the Tartis can travel through space and time. One was about Rosa Park and the Other was the Space alien Tping. Both episodes showcase the reaches of the Doctor. I thought it was Brilliantly done up to now.can't wait until the next one.pic.twitter.com/Rg6nNbIMoV
