NIW is the only merit-based immigration path. Through this bill, science and technology and NIW applicants would be killed in the next 10-20 years! please stop this bill! #NoHR392 #RemoveHR392

Ever heard of #EB1a? I know #NIW will close the door for many with #HR392 #S281 as you don't want to wait. #EB1a has been the only way for #GCbacklog nations extra-ordinary skilled people. Since many won't be able to meet its high criteria, they oppose the "one world, one line".

I understand that there are so many people in #backlog, but #HR392 is not the way to resolve it! It is not fair to PhD grads from 190 nations who have funded largely by the goverment... they would leave the country! This bill simply diminishes #diversity and #Science

I don't think so, for 2 reasons: 1. #EB <> #DV 2. If as a PhD you can't go above engineers and clinicians (#EB2 crowd), you have not proven yourself as an outstanding. Typically these PhDs are paid fraction of professionals and exploited. Best to let them go. #HR392 #S281

Seems you do not know even the Engineering-based PhDs can not apply for GC for at least 10 to 15 years anymore! Someone who studied BSc in an anonymous university would be ahead of someone with PhD in Civil from MIT. Scinece and diversity would be killed! #NoHR392

Yes, #hr392 is so unfair. How can u let some1 waiting in decades of backlog Q get a GC when a janitor frm Iran can get it in 6 months. It may cause a PhD frm Iran wait couple of years in next decade but it's ok 2 keep a PhD frm 🇮🇳 or 🇨🇳 wait a century now. FCFS IS BAD FOR 🇮🇷.

Know that #HR392 #S281 concerns only #EB category, or ~8k EB visa allocated for a given country. For family-based #FB and diversity #DV visas (based on country of birth), it doesn't have any effect.

❌❌#HR392 WOULD NOT SOLVE THE BACKLOG, ONLY EXPAND IT TO OTHERS❌❌ Say U have 100 applicants for 10 GCs. No matter how you arrange 100 ppl in a line, you’ll have a backlog of 90 ppl, as long as the # of applicants and # of GCs don’t change! #CommonSense

This bill will give all the employment based GCs to only one nation for more than a decade! There will be no room for any other talented person from any of the +190 nations. Someone with a bachelors degree will be ahead of some1 with a PHD from American schools!

I think u may need 2 read abt transition period in the bill. This bill gives priority to the person standing in Q now instead of giving special treatment for a 'would-be genius' who's not born yet. Y most Iranians r worried abt diversity in 🇺🇸 Employment GC? 😁 #PassHR392Now

Try to think logically, transitioning is fixed for 3 years. It may not eliminate entire backlog, but will reduce it at a great extent.

it does solve the problem. Current backlog for India is unknown and unpredictable with some calculations showing a lifetime wait. With this this bill passed system will become fair and just and the wait time will be down to 3 years which is reasonable and predictable #HR392 #S281
