Day 1 of getting in shape and I realize just how badly out of shape I am by very quickly becoming gassed from a shorter run than I need to be able to do. Thankfully my pup is going to help as his excitement and desire to run more gives me incentive to keep going

What made it so much worse was working a 12 hour shift immediately after where I'm walking a lot. My legs were not happy with me for that

Oh yes, I bet. A good amount of stretches and warm compresses goes a long way towards bolstering muscle endurance in the legs.
