Lady Maria in Bloodborne is one of the most satisfying and perfectly tuned bosses I’ve ever witnessed - took me about 15-20 tries in total, heart was racing, I couldn’t put my controller down. Not sure how this can be topped.

I fully agree with you! The only boss I see that really rivals her is the Sister Friede fight in Dark Souls 3. You’d think a whole three phases would be too repetitive and exhausting, but it all builds up to a final crescendo that’s deeply satisfying. Each one is a new lesson.
