Did you know? Farmers in South Africa live in constant fear as their haters hunt and kill them like wild animals while our country is in dire shortages of basic food. More than half the population is in abject poverty and can barely afford one lousy meal a day.

  2. Did you know? That land expropriation without compensation will discourage investment in the country, threaten food security and hurt economic activity and job creation. South Africa is already battling to address low growth and high unemployment. Wake up, People!

  3. Did you know? That a lawful expropriation of foreign investment should be for a public purpose, on a nondiscriminatory basis, under due process of the law, and based on the payment of prompt, adequate and effective compensation.

    Poništi
  4. ANC loves poor people so much, it multiplies them.

    Poništi
  5. Land Expropriation without compensation will be detrimental to the South African economy because foreign investors are likely to relocate to other parts of the world where they believe their investments and properties will be well protected by both domestic and international law.

  6. Did you know? South Africa’s bill of expropriation without compensation is a breach of international law and accepted standards which will eventually tarnish the image of the country worldwide because it will portray the country as unfriendly to foreign direct investment.

  7. Did you know? Every state has the right to expropriation but has the responsibilities to fulfil in order to make the expropriation lawful, one of such important responsibility is that the State is obliged to pay compensation to the individual whose property is been expropriated.

  8. Among the above-listed issues that could be used as a justification for expropriation, the most common and widely used is infrastructure development like the construction of roads, railways, the building of hospitals, among others.

  9. However, in order to make the expropriation lawful as prescribed by international law, States are obliged to perform certain responsibilities and the expropriation process should fulfill certain requirements as stated by international law.

  10. Did you know? Expropriation is a right granted to States under international law; however this right does not guarantee States to abuse their power to unlawfully seize properties without following due process or paying the right compensation.

  11. Did you know? That Zimbabwe's 2004 constitutional amendment permitted the state to confiscate any land without due process (ousting the jurisdiction of the courts) and without any compensation other than for improvements made by the owner.

  12. Did you know? That from 2013 to 2017, the Foreign Direct Investment (FDI) inflows into South Africa declined from US$ 8.3 billion to US$ 1.3 billion, while our annual GDP growth rate fell from 2.5 to 1.3 percent.

  13. The truth is that most of our black South Africans are in need of residential land not agricultural. I am able to make that obsérvation due to the fact most of us left hectares of agricultural land in our villages to fight for RDP houses in urban areas. Wake up South Africa!

  14. Did you know? The Dutch Parliament voted to not support South Africa Land Reform in response to AfriForum and Solidarity global campaign.

  15. Did you know? That farming in SA is highly capital intensive. Farmers depend on bank lending not only to buy their farms but also to provide essential working capital. If land is expropriated without compensation both banks and the farms would then collapse. And what's next?

  16. Did you know? It's illegal under international law to expropriate land without compensation. It's contrary to treaties that SA has signed. This is also enshrined in SA domestic law. You cannot change the Constitution to make it legal; Treaty law is superior law,it always applies.

    Poništi
  17. Did you know? That the South African banks would collapse if land expropriation without compensation is implemented since they have a R180 billion stake in land “owned” by individuals.

    Poništi
  18. Did you know? Section 104 of the African Growth and Opportunity Act (AGOA), which gives Africa significant preferential export rights to the US, requires a commitment to private property rights. Expropriation without compensation flies in the face of this.

    Poništi
  19. Did you know? That many farms that were given to black people through land reform have stopped food production and are now abounded and many have become a jungle, and lying fallow? Indeed ,farming is a tough vocation, not for the faint hearted.

    Poništi
  20. Farmers are contributing to our economy, they work very hard so we can have affordable food in SA. ANC govt wants to take these productive farms from white farmers to abondorn them like they did with many others before. Our people will starve to death, food prices will increase

    Poništi
  21. Is burning university buildings still part of exercising democratic rights in South Africa? If law enforcement doesn’t hand down heavy life sentences arson will move to other universities like UJ, UP, UFH, Wits and Sefako Makgatho.
