IT people just *can't* be so naive or clumsy or even ignorant to just let this happen. No way. I can only believe it's deliberately done so. Otherwise some people should be sentenced for incompetence, including lying about their competence to their employer.

"luckily, credit card numbers were not found in the database." Seriously that is the least valuable PII data listed. I mean what do you think "names, emails, phone numbers, addresses, dates of birth & financial information such as bank details and payment info" is worth!
