Fabulists don't write stories about swans reverting to ducks or princesses returning to work as dishwashers. Journalists don't write stories about detransitioning transsexuals or desisting gender-dysphoric children.
Conversation
Such stories violate Western moral and aesthetic storytelling norms. They are like a bad chord progression in music.

There is a popular narrative form that could fit desistance or detransition, namely demonic possession + successful exorcism. That needs a more complicated story, however, because there also exist real trans who would be happier with reassignment.

I think you are too kind with journalists.
Non-activist ones are afraid for their livelihood and write stories that will not have a digital mob claiming for their head.
The activists write stories that further their agenda.

Differential diagnoses to/subgroups in GID according to Dr Fisk were psychosis/psychopathy/schizoid personality, if I remember correctly. Suits well with demonic possession?

I've heard a story about a psychotic person who was transitioned because he believed that he was a female deity (apparently the second part was irrelevant to gender-affirming care providers). It didn't end well...

Ray probably because it dosnt happen very often and a lot of them retransition latter how would I know that I am one of them and know quite a few others as well as intersex who have also identified as trans at one time because they ended up haveing SRS due to scaring

Wow we already knew you were transphobic but now you’re comparing being trans to demonic possession? Really dude, really?

Demonized gender, indeed! I am happy to let you know about my new book on gender stereotypes in fiction. I discuss the "eunuch villain" trope & how that narrative has worked out. Happy Halloween!
P.S. People are people. Demons do not exist. #secularvalues

Tell me Ray, what are you lacking so you need to have PhD as part of your Twitter handle?

I remember when you did science. Not very well admittedly but at least you had a go. Now you just sound liked some tired evangelical shock jock, desperate for attention as the world moves on without you. Kinda sad, but funny too. For us I mean.
