The bill failed 7-4 to pass out of the House Education Committee. It would prohibit teachers or other school personnel, during class time, from discussing sexual orientation or gender identity from kindergarten through eighth grade.

Louisiana's 'Don't Say Gay' bill is back alive. By a vote of 55-39, the House voted to discharge it from the House Education Committee, where it failed. The House will later need to schedule a meeting to hear it. #lalege

The whole house voted to essentially take it from the EDUCATION committee. Where it wasn’t going to pass through to the house? Am I reading that correctly? How is that legal?
