In Hades I can consistently reach the last boss (I assume), only to get my butt kicked immediately.
You will learn! He's easy actually once you know his moves. Until you turn up the difficulty that is.

I got up to the second stage last time, but I'm worried my reflexes aren't good enough. Will keep trying though!

Range weapons are generally easier (at least for me), you can just stay away from them.
