We've decided to keep our office closed and have employees work remotely through at least the end of 2020, as they have since March. Everyone is getting the same pay even if they live somewhere cheaper (unlike places like Facebook). There's no point in risking people's health.
If WFH becomes the new norm (at least for some), what are your thoughts on potentially pushing employees to move to locations with lower costs of living?

I think people should live where they want to live, and employers shouldn't be pushing them in any direction if they're working remotely

Agree but do you think providing everyone with equal salary will not do that in longer run? Why'd I live in city X where the cost of living is double comparing to city Y if I can have the same salary in both? Wouldn't acknowledging cost of living as part of salary elevate that?
