When we were campaigning to oppose Section 28, we were told that young lesbian, gay and bi people are impressionable, vulnerable and don’t understand themselves. We can’t let history repeat itself as the same arguments are now being made about trans peoplehttps://www.stonewall.org.uk/about-us/news/why-were-worried-about-government%E2%80%99s-statement-trans-rights-legislation …

As someone who is 'trans' but now in detransition, I can fairly say that I DIDN'T fully understand myself when I made the choice to transition! I wish I had more info and I sight into what I was doing. I wish I'd been Q'd more. I dont see self ID without Gateway as a good thing

Good for you but most trans folks know who they are very early and need access to hrt before being 18.

And you know this from being Trans do you? I'm coming from a place of understanding a place where I've lived through the experience. If I'd had more info available I may not have gone down this road at all. I don't see where a problem lies in saying that. There are others like me

The problem is you trying to limit other people possibilities because of your own experience. As someone with trans sibling their experience is different. They should go on hrt 10 years earlier. It would help them so much.
