Seems like it's similar in mechanics to the Ori games, which is why I hurriedly canned Ori and the Will o'the Wisps. Not my type of gameplay.
Ori is much more smooth and faster while this is a slow and methodical. And harder. Like a lot.

Yikes. Definitely not for me then. Shame, I really love the aesthetics of Hollow Knight.

Yeah maybe. Cannot say if that holds on easy mode. Also it's heavy exploration game and you often feel a bit lost which is kinda enjoyable in that setting but took me a moment to get used to.
