Tories still exist after Thatcher, so I don't really think it is possible for party to ever become unelectable. They will be just harming the country forever.

From your profile pic I assume you're too young to remember the Thatcher years, let alone what preceded them. The differences between Thatcher and Johnson - personality and leadership to some extent, but mostly ideology and circumstances - are enormous. 1/2

I suspect the parallels in 2024 are not going to be with the '92 or '97 elections, but with the position Labour were in in '79 and the factors which made them unelectable until Blair. 2/2
